Kyung Cha “Anna” Jee

— devoted wife and mother, lifelong lover of classic movies, ballroom dancing, gospel music, and spending precious time with her family, died peacefully on July 13, 2026.

Kyung Cha was born the second child and eldest daughter of seven children of Huh InSoon and Lee Ik Je, who was a prominent judge in Seoul, Korea. She was a proud alumna of Ewha High School and Ewha College, where she studied English.

In 1965, she was introduced to and married to the love of her life, Dr. Keum Ho Jee, with whom she was happily married for over 61 years. Throughout their long and happy marriage, Kyung Cha, who was known as “Anna” by her friends, was always there to support her husband, both in the home, and in his office.

Most important to Kyung Cha was her family. She was a dedicated wife and mother, and she stayed home to raise their three daughters: Susan Jee Chen (m. Fabian Chen, Gregory, Sophia), Sandra Jee (m. Burr Hall, Sawyer, Hudson, and Harrison), and Carol Jee (m. Lawrence Yu, Lindsey, Robert). She was full of love and pride for her three children and seven grandchildren. She often sent them cards and always remembered their birthdays and special events with thoughtful gifts.

Her home was a welcome gathering place for large family events over many decades. As the first of her seven siblings to come to the United States, she assisted nearly all of them in coming to the United States, where all her siblings and their respective families now reside. She organized family gatherings in Franklin Lakes, Long Beach Island, and Orlando, where she lived for 17 years. She kept in touch with family and friends, and she wrote down important notes in her journal that she did not want to forget, as she was suffering from dementia and Parkinson’s Disease in her last years of life.

She was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and devoted Christian. She leaves behind six living siblings and 21 nieces and nephews. She was the loving sister of Sang Chul (Charlie) Lee, Sogyoung (Sonia) Lee, Soon Duk Lee Park, Sang Eun (Sunny) Lee Do, Sang Uk Lee, and of Sang Jin Lee.

A family-only gathering will celebrate her life on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Vine Methodist Church in Englewood, NJ.
